May Recipe of the Month: Banana Soy Smoothie

As the weather warms up, we all want something “easy peasy” as we rush out the door or simply sit on the back porch.

Did I mention that this smoothie is delicious?

With only 199 calories, this recipe makes a large smoothie, actually enough to share (you just might not want to).

This rich and creamy treat has 7.3 grams of protein, is very high in Vitamin D and calcium, low in saturated fat and has no cholesterol. You can reduce the total calories even further by substituting the honey with Truvia or another calorie-free sweetener.

Since soy is a complete protein this quick and easy smoothie can be a meal replacement.

With the price of groceries going up right now, don’t ever throw another banana in the compost again.

Freeze bananas and other fruit to make a range of smoothies throughout the summer. No more fresh fruit waste!

So, what does this mean to you and your family?

You can stretch your food dollars while increasing high-quality protein in your diet.

You deserve the best!

Enjoy!
