Awe of Nature and Agriculture

"This is where your bread comes from . . . and your corn, rice, and soy".

How can you not pause in awe of nature and the circle of life?

And the challenges Arkansas farmers face with uncontrollable forces of nature.

It can be beautiful one minute . . . and life threatening and destroy a crop the next.

Farming is not for the faint-of-heart.

South Arkansas farmers were devastated by flooding this past week.

You can’t plan for 15 inches of rain.

Lots of stress.

Life is uncertain for us all, but sustaining a family farm has been especially challenging over the past decade.

I hope my blog gives you a glimpse of the contributions farmer’s make and the beauty and challenges of rural life and our farm culture. It is something you don’t often get a chance to see driving down the interstate.
