B & B and COVID-19

How do you launch a new business in the midst of a pandemic?

We are finding out.

Priorities shift.

Our commitment to the B & B Legacy Farms launch has not. With food shortages and price increases we realize the value of whole soy foods more than ever.

Some doors have closed during this time.

Other doors have opened and we are walking through them.

New partners are helping us move further down the road.

The road we are traveling down is not an interstate highway . . . more like the gravel roads we are accustomed to; with a few mud holes here and there.

We are continuing our work with product development, have some seeds in the ground for variety testing, and are completing steps for initial product packaging during Fall 2020.

The lessons of 2020 have included accepting the things you cannot change, finding the courage to change the things you can, and hopefully having the wisdom to know the difference. The Serenity Prayer is a gift that guides our steps each day.

We said good-bye to Mr. and Mrs. Ballard whose lives enriched those who had the good fortune to know them. They will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. Their farm was a playground for all of the grandchildren and a haven for many others.

During these uncertain times we share gratitude for our family, friends, and advisors that encourage and help guide our steps to build a soy food system in the Delta. We learned recently that Colonel Sanders didn’t start selling chicken until he was 65. While we have no plans to deep fry our soybeans, we know for a fact that they are great with chicken!

Please continue to do everything possible to keep safe as we navigate our new normal.

We will continue to post updates from the farm. You will be the first to know when our first products are packaged.

Thank you again for going with us on this incredible journey.

Karen & Leigh Ann
