2021 Harvest on the Books

The 2021 Harvest is in and on the books.

2021 has been a challenging year for lots of reasons.

In this space before Thanksgiving, I always consider what I’ve learned over the past year.

Some lessons are hard. Some gifts are sweet and unexpected.

There are always challenges.

I think the founders of our country must have seen the wisdom in taking a moment before the hard winter to gather, share food with one another, and give thanks.

Life is precious and fragile. It is worth thanksgiving.

This year I look forward to spending time with my family and eating favorite foods.

Our Thanksgiving will not be as big as in the past.

Some seats will be empty around the table.

I am grateful for the memories of the big Thanksgiving feasts.

I am also grateful that there is enough food for this year’s small gathering. I appreciate the farmers that supply the food.

Perspective is everything.

Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving and some glimpses of life from the farm.

~Karen
