April Farm Blog

The calm following the storm.

We began April with a renewed appreciation for life.

March 31st was a difficult day for many Arkansans.

The tornados that ravaged central and east Arkansas left a path of destruction.

Tornadoes are nothing new in Arkansas, but rebuilding from this devastating storm will be a long process.

I read today that there have been 498 confirmed tornadoes in 2023 across the U.S. I am grateful for the local meteorologists who covered the storms, kept us informed, and saved countless lives.

It is encouraging to see people of all ages continuing to step-up weeks after the storm; lending a hand to others they do not even know.

It is the best of humanity.

Actions speak louder than words.

We all deserved the April wildflowers that showed up as well.

Resilience and determination are required throughout life. At one point or another, we all have probably felt weighed down by what life has dumped on us.

Following a spring of record rainfall, soy farmers are finally getting back into the fields.

Thanks to the farmers who are working long hours right now to get the 2023 crops planted and the thousands of volunteers serving others across our state.

Sharing some additional April bright spots from the country (below).

~Karen
